Ricardo Montans

Ricky is a natural sports lover who’s been connected to the ocean since his early childhood. He has excelled at many sports throughout his life, but his love for competing became more than just hobby, it became a lifestyle especially when it came to professional Freediving. Just, as his father gave him a love for the ocean when he was young, Ricky bestowed the same passion to his daughter, showing her the joy of feeling alive and enjoying every moment of her life. Ricky is a world-class Freediving champion, a Scuba Divemaster, Freediving Instructor Trainer and AIDA Judge who loves nothing more thansharing his knowledge, wisdom and enthusiasm with others. He is the record holder from Argentina in CWT FIM and CWTB and the same drive, commitment and determination that he puts into everything he does is at the very foundation of our school.

Nick Powers

Nick has been a certified scuba diver since the age of 12 years old. In 2016 Nick had an idea after returning to scuba to use it as therapy for his PTSD from combat operations in the Marines as well as Private Security contracting in Iraq. In 2017 Nick formed Warfighter Scuba after going through the Instructor Training Course with Scuba Schools International. Nick’s entire dedication to his brothers and sisters from combat is to teach a skill with scuba that helps change the mindset to help curb the suicide rate in the veteran community. Nick currently is an active Instructor Trainer for Scuba Schools International, including the Classified Diving (adaptive) specialties.

Adam Trisk

Adam was originally NAUI trained by the great Bill Tewes in 1988 at the age of 12 and did much of his early diving in Virgin Gorda with the legendary “Receiver of Wrecks”, Bert Kilbride. Adam retired from a career in Advertising, Marketing, Tech and Innovation in 2020 and began pursuing professional and technical diving qualifications in Roatan where he trained with Monty Graham and Roatan Tec Center. Adam has dived around the world and today holds recreational, speciality, technical and extended range (TEC) certifications with NAUI, PADI, TDI and SSI. Adam’s passion lies in teaching speciality & extended range courses and leading divers into the deep.

Saira Green

Saira is an SSI Master Instructor & PADI MSDT Instructor. She’s an educator and animal expert at heart and has spent a decade as an educator of Biology & Ecology, a zookeeper and dive professional. She enjoys teaching & working with both children and adults, and embraces working with apprehensive students. She’s quick to adapt to individual learning styles, always encouraging divers to overcome their fears by developing confidence alongside competence. In addition to teaching numerous specialities, Saira is an avid sidemount diver, photographer & renown macro maniac. Her knowledge of the aquatic life & reef here in Roatan is regularly sought out by dive professionals & returning customers.

Dawn Powers

Dawn is an open water instructor, whose passion lies in transforming fear into exhilaration. Since 2017, she has dedicated herself to helping nervous students conquer their apprehensions about scuba so they can fall in love with the ocean as she has. Dawn teaches alongside her husband, Nick, in support of their nonprofit – Warfighter Scuba – where they provide therapy for military veterans through scuba. As a Classified (adaptive) instructor, she ensures every student, regardless of their background or disability, feels empowered and confident in the water. Dawn is also an underwater videographer, who loves capturing the beauty of the ocean and sharing it with her students.

Caroline Rodriguez

Caroline is an avid Freediver, AIDA Freediving Judge and also a certified Scuba Rescue Diver. Caroline played a vital role in helping Ricardo build and establish Freediving Caribbean School and was a key member of the team responsible for building out Roatan Diving School. As our manager, Caroline is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the business, making sure that our customers get what they need from the moment they enter until the moment the leave. While Caroline spends a lot of time these days out of the water, she is always most at peace when she’s able to be in the water.

Louis Tejeda

Louis is our beloved Captain. He is full of life and enthusiasm which you will find in his joyous spirit and playful nature. As our head captain, Louis is responsible for preparing and running our boats which starts with making sure the boat is fully prepped and equipped, checking our oxygen and medical kits, helping to set-up gear and getting us all to and from our dive sites quickly and safely. He is an amazing part of our team and is adored by all of our customers. He will also be starting to work on his Scuba & Freediving certifications in the near future.

Panda Dixie

Panda is our shop cat. She came with the building although we’ve learned that she was actually one of Jeff & Ginger’s cats who was once known as Dixie. In addition we’ve learned over time that she is not actually a she at all. She is a he. So our shop is super progressive. She is comfortable being called either Panda or Dixie, He or She, as long as you pet her and feed her you can call her George for all he cares.
